In 2020, during the pandemic, the US Open was one of the first to announce dates for a sporting event. Our design needed to speak volumes, celebrating the host city of New York, our sports fans, and the athletes.

Keeping our distinguished blue in the foreground, we incorporated our athletes and their determined movements. We used their actions to set the stage for graphics that would reference the energy they gave off every match. Headline graphics would drive the viewer through the composition.
